Research Fellow
Muntasir Murshed is a Research Fellow of Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS). He completed his BS in Economics and MS in Economics degrees from North South University, Bangladesh. Prior to joining as a Research Fellow, he worked as Research Associate/Research Officer at BIDS, Programme Associate at Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD), Research Associate at North South University. He has expertise in macroeconomic modelling as well as microeconomic analysis. He has been enlisted in the list of Top 2% Scientist Rankings (Stanford University, USA) for the years 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024. Muntasir is also featured in RePEC Top Young Economist list for the year 2024. His fields of research expertise include development economics, environmental economics, energy economics, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). He is also a member of The International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE). He has published several papers in reputed journals including Energy Policy (Scopus Q1, ABDC-A*), Business Strategy & Environment (Scopus Q1, ABDC-A), Energy Policy (Scopus Q1, ABDC-A), Journal of Applied Economics (Scopus Q1-ABDC B), Research in International Business and Finance (Scopus Q1, ABDC-B), and Sustainable Development (Q1, ABDC-C).
